Wildcrafting with Catherine Lightfoot: Foraging and Salvemakin

Let's take a walk and discover the helpful herbs that grow right beneath our feet (and likely in your very own backyard!) We'll forage and gather and craft these wild things into a nourishing tea and a healing salve for mind, body and soul. Please bring a small glass jar with a lid so that you can take some home with you! We will harvest nettles to use for a healing salve that participants can take home. There are plenty of nettles for participants who might want to gather extra to take home for compost, tea for the garden or for eating! Light snacks and beverages included.

Catherine Lightfoot is a traditional midwife who is passionate about all the little babies of our great Mother Earth! She has been blessed to sit at the feet of indigenous elders in India and Hawaii as well as the Midwest and is likely to break out in song in any given moment.

This activity includes a nature walk on unpaved and potentially uneven surfaces. Wear comfortable clothing for the weather, including sturdy shoes or boots, long sleeves, long pants, and gloves to protect your hands (nettles sting!). Insect repellent, sunscreen, and hats are also recommended.
